[ Trials Explained - Everything Else - Pallets]

The pallet is probably one of the most common and versatile things you can use to practice trials. They can be stacked and arranged in an infinite number of ways, providing a challenge for anyone from the lowliest beginner to the world champion. They are almost the perfect size, just small enough that maneuvering on one is tight, but still big enough to provide a decent base. Set two on the ground with a gap to practice moving the bike forward from a standstill. Stack them to practice your ups. Drop off them, either forwards or with a side hop. Practice pivoting the bike diagonally across them. Use your imagination and you can spend hours with just a couple pallets. Acquiring a pallet is not too hard either, just go your local industrial area or loading dock and just ask the friendly folks if you can have one. Often the older ones are getting discarded anyways, just replace a board or two and you're all set.
