[ Trials Explained - Everything Else ]

In the humble opinion of your webmaster, this is really the best part of trials. Let's face it, spending 4 hours riding in a competition is fun, but it's also nervewracking and expensive, and you really can't make huge leaps in skill level in those few hours. You needs weeks and weeks of riding, trying new things or refining the stuff you know, and that time is really the most enjoyable. No pressures except those that you put on yourself, and just a plain old lot of fun. Many an hour can be spent riding around with your buds, seeing who can shoot across that gap first, or who can get up that wall. A fun social activity and riding session rolled into one just can't be beat.

The main trouble is finding good places to ride. While most cities have a variety of places to ride, both in the urban and natural styles, finding a spot to ride where you won't get busted by the local authorities is always a challenge. Pick your spots carefully and please do respect the property of others. Most trials riders will have stories about getting caught by the cops while riding (I know I sure do) but if you are respectful and don't make a huge deal out of it, you'll usually be OK.

Let's talk about some things you can look for when you go out to practice. Listed below are some common trials objects that should give you some good ideas for places to go and things to try. Click an item below to get a little pop-up window with more details.
